It takes a special balance of function and form to design the perfect live performance venue. As designers and technicians in live entertainment, our Members have worked in performance spaces all across the country, and the globe! USITT aims to recognize the best of the best live entertainment spaces and give credit to the architects and engineers behind them.

Sponsored by the USITT Architecture Commission, the Architecture Awards Program honors excellence in design and has recognized architects of theatre projects for 25 years.

Honor Awards (the highest designation) and Merit Awards are evaluated by a panel of distinguished jurors for:

  • Creative image
  • Contextual resonance
  • Community contribution
  • Explorations in new technologies
  • Functional operations

Past award winners have come from England, Germany, Japan, California, New York, and all points between.
