TMS Has New Ownership!

OMAHA, NE – Theatrical Media Services (TMS), a staple in the live events and production industry for more than 35 years, enters a new era of leadership while continuing its legacy of live event excellence.

Three longtime employees—John Hansen, Michael Arch, and Jamie Hurst—have taken ownership of the company. The three new owners bring over sixty years of combined experience spanning technical production, design, touring, and integration. Each began their careers with TMS and have since become cornerstones of the organization’s operations, client partnerships, and technical leadership.

Founded by industry veterans Mark Huber and the late Timothy Kohlmeyer, TMS was built on hard work, innovation, and client service. The new owners credit Tim and Mark with instilling the company’s standards and work ethic. “They built something that mattered, and we are proud to continue their legacy,” said John Hansen, President.

“We didn’t step into this role to change the company—we stepped in to protect what makes it special,” added Michael Arch, Vice President of Production. “This is about taking care of the team that built this company, honoring the relationships that keep us working, and positioning TMS for the growth that will carry us into the future. We’re a family, and we’re proud to lead with that.”

TMS has operated out of Omaha, Nebraska for over three decades, providing full-scale production services and permanent sound and light installations to a wide range of clients—while steadily expanding its expertise and capacity to support future growth.

Their touring resume spans artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Bob Dylan, The Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, Switchfoot, and Ray Lamontagne, along with extensive festival production nationwide. In their hometown, TMS has provided production support for the University of Nebraska, Mutual of Omaha, Mannheim Steamroller, Berkshire Hathaway, and Omaha Performing Arts, to name a few.

“We’ve spent our careers building systems that bring productions to life, from touring shows to permanent installations. Stepping into ownership means we can ensure that level of craftsmanship and care continues for decades to come—while also building for the next chapter of growth,” added Jamie Hurst, Vice President of Integration.

The new owners extend their gratitude to founders Mark Huber and the late Timothy Kohlmeyer, their families, and the entire TMS team, for building the foundation that ensures TMS will remain a force in live events.
