Following an unprecedented run of large-format international concerts and premium domestic productions, Phoenix Networks Global – India’s leading rental and comprehensive technical service provider – has significantly strengthened its control-surface arsenal with the addition of flagship digital mixing systems from DiGiCo, Yamaha and Avid; in tow with a future-ready high-density world-class audio platform from DirectOut Technologies — a move that underscores both its technical ambition and its commitment to staying decisively ahead of the curve.
“In the high-stakes world of premium live events, inventory decisions are rarely impulsive. They are calculated, future-facing investments shaped by hard data, on-ground experience and a clear understanding of where the industry is headed. For us at Phoenix Networks Global, the recent expansion of our digital mixing console inventory represents exactly that kind of strategic foresight.” states Animesh Mishra, Founder Director of Phoenix Networks Global.
At the centre of this expansion is a clear reality. The scale, complexity and expectations associated with live events in India are evolving rapidly. International touring productions, global artists, broadcast-ready shows and hybrid live-streamed events now demand mixing platforms that offer immense processing power, flexible I/O architectures, ultra-low latency, rock-solid redundancy and intuitive operational workflows. Phoenix Networks Global’s ever-growing portfolio of premium live events made it imperative for the company to field consoles that not only meet today’s demands, but are also capable of adapting to the workflows of tomorrow.
And it is this philosophy has shaped Phoenix’s latest acquisitions; beginning with a brand-new DiGiCo Quantum852 digital mixing system, complete with SD Racks for expanded I/O. The console was purchased through Hi-tech Audio & Image, the official distribution partner of DiGiCo in India, and its arrival marks a significant milestone for Phoenix’s front-of-house and monitoring capabilities at the very highest tier of live production.
Animesh reveals that the decision to invest in the Quantum852 was influenced as much by first-hand experience as by strategic planning. The system had recently been deployed in India by Post Malone’s touring team for the artist’s landmark solo headline concert, for which Phoenix provided the complete audio reinforcement. Working in close quarters with the Quantum852 during that production proved decisive.
“When you’re operating at the kind of scale the Post Malone concert witnessed; you very quickly see what a console is truly capable of,” says Animesh. “What impressed us about the Quantum852 was not just its sheer processing power, but the way that power translated into speed, clarity and control in a real-world touring environment. The channel count, the flexibility of the Quantum engine, the resolution of the processing and the responsiveness of the surface made it exceptionally well suited to complex, high-pressure shows. The Quantum852 sits at the top of DiGiCo’s live console range, offering all the features and workflow that has now become a familiar standard for international touring engineers. From a business perspective, it was clear to me that this platform aligns perfectly with where premium touring and festival productions are heading, and that made the investment an easy decision.”
Paired with SD Racks for I/O expansion, the system provides Phoenix Networks Global with immense flexibility, whether handling large festival inputs, orchestral elements, broadcast splits or multi-artist line-ups with rapid changeovers. More importantly, it places Phoenix in a strong position to meet rider expectations from global engineers who have increasingly been specifying Quantum-series consoles as a baseline requirement.
Complementing this acquisition is the addition of a Yamaha RIVAGE PM7 digital mixing system, purchased through Yamaha Professional India. The PM7 represents a different, yet equally important, dimension of Phoenix’s console strategy. Renowned for its sonic transparency, reliability and hybrid analogue-digital workflow philosophy, the RIVAGE platform has become a mainstay in broadcast, touring and high-profile live productions worldwide.
For team Phoenix, the appeal of the RIVAGE PM7 lies in its ability to deliver consistency and confidence across a wide spectrum of applications. “Yamaha’s approach with RIVAGE has always resonated with engineers who value sonic integrity and operational stability,” Animesh explains. “The PM7 offers enormous DSP capability, highly refined processing, and an ecosystem that integrates seamlessly with both live and broadcast workflows. Basically, it’s a console that delivers repeatable results, show after show, which is critical when you’re handling premium events with zero tolerance for failure. The modular architecture, combined with Yamaha’s well-established reputation for system reliability, makes it particularly well suited to productions that demand long runtimes, complex cue structures and absolute consistency. And so, for us, the PM7 strengthens our ability to service not only headline concerts but also large-scale corporate events, broadcast-centric shows and multi-day festivals where stability and sonic cohesion are paramount.”
Completing the trifecta of this significant console inventory expansion is Phoenix’s investment in two new Avid S6L digital mixing systems, both purchased through Ansata, the official distribution partner of Avid in India. The acquisitions include one S6L 32D console paired with the E6LX-256 engine, and one S6L 24D console, also equipped with the E6LX-256 engine. Together, these systems bring Avid’s flagship live mixing platform firmly into Phoenix’s core inventory.
The Avid S6L ecosystem has earned widespread acceptance among touring engineers for its tight integration with the Pro Tools environment, extensive plug-in support and powerful automation capabilities. For Phoenix Networks Global, the decision to invest in two distinct S6L configurations reflects a desire to offer scalable solutions that can be tailored precisely to the size and complexity of each production.
“The S6L platform gives us incredible flexibility,” Animesh notes. “With the 256 engine, we have access to immense processing headroom and extremely low latency, which is essential for today’s high-density input lists and sophisticated monitoring requirements. Just as importantly, the Avid ecosystem allows engineers to bring their Pro Tools sessions directly into the live environment, creating continuity between studio and stage. From a strategic standpoint, that interoperability is hugely valuable, because it aligns perfectly with the way modern productions are conceived and executed.”
By adding both the 32D and 24D surfaces to its inventory, Animesh shares that Phoenix Networks Global rests in a comfortable position to deploy the S6L system across a broad range of event scales – from headline concerts and touring productions to more compact, yet equally demanding, premium shows – with this flexibility ensuring that team can respond quickly to diverse rider requirements without compromising on capability or workflow familiarity.
Looking at the console acquisitions from a macro perspective; Animesh makes an important note, stating, “What unites all three acquisitions is a common underlying motivation: the rapid expansion of Phoenix Networks Global’s premium event portfolio. Over the past few years, we have found ourselves increasingly entrusted with large-scale international concerts, technically ambitious domestic productions and events that demand global-standard execution. In such an environment, maintaining a diverse yet future-ready console inventory is no longer optional; it is fundamental to sustaining growth. Therefore, every investment we make is driven by what we see happening on the ground. The scale of events is increasing, the technical expectations are rising, and artists and engineers are more informed than ever. Our responsibility is to ensure that when a production comes to us, we already have the tools, the expertise and the infrastructure in place to deliver without compromise. These console acquisitions are a direct response to that reality.”
Rounding off the extensive inventory update, and adding gravitas to this console-led strategy is Phoenix Networks Global’s continued focus on robust, future-ready audio infrastructure at the system level. And central to this is the integration of the Prodigy.MP from DirectOut Technologies - a modular, high-density audio platform designed to sit at the heart of complex, multi-console and networked live production environments.
Explaining this investment decision, Animesh informs, “With its ability to seamlessly bridge multiple audio protocols, manage large-scale I/O requirements and deliver rock-solid redundancy, the Prodigy.MP enables our team to architect highly flexible signal flows across FOH, monitors, broadcast and recording with absolute confidence. In an era where touring productions increasingly demand interoperable systems capable of adapting to diverse console ecosystems and evolving network standards, the inclusion of DirectOut’s flagship platform further strengthens our ability to deliver technically resilient, internationally compliant solutions at the highest level of live production.”
Beyond their immediate technical benefits, the new additions signal Phoenix Networks Global’s intent to remain a long-term partner of choice for promoters, artists and touring engineers. By offering leading platforms from DiGiCo, Yamaha, Avid, and DirectOut, the company positions itself as an unbiased, value-driven solutions provider capable of accommodating a wide range of preferences and workflows.
More importantly though, these investments are underpinned by Phoenix’s emphasis on human capital, as Animesh concludes, “A powerful console is only as effective as the engineers operating it, and we have consistently prioritised training, system familiarity and cross-platform expertise within our team. The arrival of the Quantum852, RIVAGE PM7 and S6L systems and the Prodigy.MP platform is therefore not just an inventory upgrade, but an expansion of the company’s collective knowledge base. As India’s live events industry continues to mature, decisions like these reflect a deeper understanding of what sustainable growth looks like. It is not about chasing trends for our own sake, but about recognizing which technologies will form the backbone of future productions and investing in them at the right moment.”
